View RecordsChoose the Corpus Christi municipal or Nueces County criminal court route, locate the case, and request the specific document that establishes its outcome.
A Corpus Christi municipal citation and a Nueces County criminal prosecution are not the same record request. Start with the court printed on the citation or hearing notice. Corpus Christi Municipal Court provides a Citation and Docket Search page; use that route for a municipal matter and retain the citation or case reference.
If the municipal record cannot be matched, contact 361-826-2500 or [email protected]. The court is at 120 N. Chaparral Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78401. Do not pay an alleged balance merely to retrieve information: the city warns that payment results in a judgment and conviction that may be reported to DPS and placed on the driving record or criminal history. Verify the case and your intended action first.
Nueces County’s records-services directory routes criminal felony and misdemeanor court records to the District Clerk. Its Criminal Division handles criminal filings, including indictments and judgments, on the courthouse’s second floor. Use the court and case number rather than assuming every matter involving a Corpus Christi resident belongs to Municipal Court.
The same county directory separates Sheriff reports and jail/inmate information from court records. A jail result describes custody, while an offense report describes a reported incident and the criminal file documents prosecution. If you need the final outcome, request the court’s judgment or dismissal. A missing custody listing cannot establish that no criminal case exists.
The District Clerk’s Records Search Portal provides a register of actions for criminal cases. Use it to locate the case and identify the document title and date needed for a copy order. The same records page describes re:SearchTX documents at 10 cents per page specifically for civil and family cases. That description is not a criminal-document purchase price or a promise that your criminal filing is available there.
The Criminal Division gives case-number examples without hyphens or commas, such as CR160022224. Enter the number in the system’s required format while keeping the full case style from your paperwork. Compare the defendant’s name and birth date where available. If the record appears to concern another person, resolve that mismatch before ordering or relying on the outcome.
Use the Customer Order Form for Criminal Copies. It requests the cause number, request date, requesting party, telephone, email, defendant’s name and date of birth, case status and number of copies. You can specify a docket sheet, indictment or complaint, judgment and sentence, dismissal, plea agreement, probation documents or another named filing. Mark a whole-file request only if the entire file is actually needed.
The Criminal Division’s instructions direct copy requests by fax to 361-888-0759. The linked form also publishes [email protected] for emailed requests and 361-888-0495 for questions. State the case style, exact documents, whether certification is needed, how you want to receive the copies and a callback number for the total. Those request channels do not authorize access to a sealed document.
The Criminal Division lists $1 per page and $1 to certify. Its wording does not further define the certification unit, so have staff confirm the total for several documents rather than assuming one $1 charge covers a whole order. The posted instructions say appointed attorneys are not charged for copies. These criminal-copy prices are separate from the civil/family re:SearchTX price.
The order form requires advance payment or written payment confirmation. It accepts local personal checks within Nueces County and money orders or cashier’s checks from outside the county or state. The Criminal Division also lists major credit cards. After payment, copies can be mailed or collected from the Criminal Department. No fixed copy-production deadline is stated in the inspected instructions; ask about timing when you obtain the quote.
A docket listing shows case activity, not necessarily the final result of every charge. Obtain the judgment, dismissal or later relevant order and check its date and defendant identifiers. A single municipal or county case file is not a complete statewide history. If that is what the recipient needs, Texas DPS lists separate name-based criminal-history and fingerprint personal-review routes; follow the required product rather than assembling unrelated court printouts.
For an inaccurate Texas DPS history entry, the Error Resolution Unit requests certified supporting documents. Contact [email protected] and identify the entry needing correction. Misuse of your identity by someone arrested under your details follows a different DPS identity-misuse process. If the error is in the court record itself, contact the filing court first; if it is on a private website or screening report, a DPS correction does not automatically compel that third party to update its copy.
